Severo (De Luca) Bonini was an important Italian composer, singer and organist. Bonini took voice lesson from Giulio Caccini. Bonini held important positions as organist in many parts of Italy. In 1640 Bonini was appoineted Maestro di cappella at Santa Trinità in Florence. Bonini who wrote music in the monodic style, composed hundreds motets, madrigals and songs.
