Hyacinthe Eléonore Klose

Hyacinthe Klose was a distinguished French clarinet virtuoso, composer and professor of the Conservatoire de Paris. Hyacinthe Klose is recognized for his technical and design improvements to the clarinet by applying the principles by Theobald Boehm in Boehm’s work on the flute keywork. With the assistance of Louis-August Buffet, the famous instrument-making technician, Hyacinthe Klose constructed the Boehm system clarinet. Hyacinthe Klose’s Paris Conservatory students include K.I. Boutruy, A. Grisez, Augusta Holmès, Adolphe Marthe Leroy, Louis A. Mayeur, I.G. Paulus, Frédéric Selmer, Charles Paul Turban.
