A noted composer, Josef Myslivecek was born into a wealthy family. Due to Josef’s obvious musical talent he was supplied with the best education at the period. Several of his early symphonic compositions brought Myslivecek a great success and recognition of the Prague audiences. Myslivecek continued his education in Venice and at Bologna's Accademia Filarmonica. Myslivecek opera Il Bellerofonte brought Myslivecek the international fame. Mozart admired Myslivecek’s music. Myslivecek was the highest paid musician in Europe, but his exuberant lifestyle created financial problems that, in turn, negatively affected Myslivecek’s health.
