One of the greatest Italian violinists and Baroque composers, the Priest Antonio Vivaldi was nicknamed Il Prete Rosso. Vivaldiwas associated with the Ospedale della Pietà and brought the institution an outstanding international reputation. In 1714, Vivaldi was appointed impresario of the theater Sant'Angelo in Venice. A very productive composer, Vivaldi created more than 500 concertos as well as many works for the church and theatre. Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is the most popular Baroque music composition.
