The greatest Norwegian composer, Edvard Grieg was a student of the Leipzig Conservatory. Grieg's frequent participation in concerts of Norwegian music, together with his wife, the noted singer Nina Hagerup, created him a reputation of the major musician in his native country. Grieg worked together with the greatest artistic figures in Norway, Bjørnson and Ibsen. Liszt admired Grieg Piano concerto. Grieg was always very active dedicating his time for composition and the concert-hall activities until his death in 1907. Grieg’s creations have been among most popular and beloved music ever composed.
