Fryderyk Chopin

(1810 - 1849)

Chopin short biography

Called by Liszt ‘Poet of the Piano’, Fryderyk Chopin was born in Poland. Chopin’s enormous pianistical abilities earned him early fame in Poland. Chopin and his family soon settled in Paris where Chopin quickly established himself as an outstanding pianist, composer and teacher for the Parisian fashionable society. For more than 10 years Chopin enjoyed a close friendship with the famous writer George Sand. Most of Chopin compositions are written for the piano, making full use of the outstanding newly constucted instrument. Chopin is among the most beloved and popular composers of all time.
